Sophia Gray

Sophia Gray grew up in Cincinnati where she began training with The Cincinnati Ballet Academy at the age of four. She studied Vagonova and Cecchetti technique under the direction of Sarah Hairston, Dawn Kelly, and Zack Grubbs. After graduating high school, she continued her dance education at The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a Talent Scholarship. She received her BFA in Ballet with a minor in Nutrition Health Sciences. While at the University of Cincinnati, Sophia performed soloist roles in productions of Coppelia, Little Mermaid, and Carmina Burana. She also performed ensemble roles in Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, American in Paris and more. During her time there she worked with guest artists Ginger Thatcher and Jennie Creer-King. She joined Ohio Contemporary Ballet for the 2025-26 season and has performed works including Opaque by Nycole Ray, From the Street by Gordon Peirce Schmidt, Eternal by Avree Walker, and Heinz Poll’s Light Breeze and Bolero. Sophia is excited for her second season with the company!
