Lower Body Strength (30 min)
Christina Lindhout of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance will lead this class focusing on the strength and endurance of the lower body. Every major muscle group- quads, hamstrings, adductors, abductors, and external rotators- will be activated throughout the workout. These exercises will keep your legs and glutes strong and in dancing shape! For all levels.
Ballet Basics (30 min)
Christina Lindhout of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance will lead a Ballet Basics class. For students without any prior experience, or those just looking for a little refresher on the basics! In this class we will break down some of the fundamental movements of ballet technique, what they mean, and how to make sure you’re doing them correctly every time.
Ballet Barre Warmup (15 min)
Richard Dickinson, MFA of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance will teach an 15 minute Ballet Barre for beginning students. For those with basic ballet skills, this class guides participants through the structured format of ballet barre work.
New to Ballet (60 min)
Christina Lindhout of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance will lead this class for anyone New to Ballet. Never set foot in a ballet class before? No problem! For adults interested in learning how to dance without any prior experience, this class will emphasize balance, coordination, flexibility, and core strength by teaching beginning barre exercises and simple combinations.
Int/Adv Ballet (1 hour)
Richard Dickinson, MFA of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance will teach an Intermediate/Advanced Ballet class for students trying to get to the next level. This class constantly challenges students to refine their technique while learning more specific and technically advanced movements at the barre, in the center and across the floor. Grace, coordination, strength, flexibility, rhythm and musicality are all emphasized. This class will leave students refreshed and stimulated–both physically and artistically.
Pre Pointe/Pointe (30 min)
Kelly Korfhage of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance will lead a 30 minute class for pre pointe/pointe work. In our teen/adult Pointe class students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles to enable the student to gracefully and safely perform steps en pointe. Advanced knowledge of ballet technique is a must, as well as participation in a ballet technique class (any level) prior to taking pointe class to ensure the proper warm-up and safety of the student.
Jazz (30 min)
Talia Rockland of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance leads a jazz class. Our Adult/Teen Jazz class is intended for students of all skill levels! Students will learn basic jazz technique, and increase their strength, endurance, and flexibility. In this class students will also learn jazz steps and short combinations.
Contemporary (30 min)
Daniel Cho of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance leads a contemporary class. Join our dancers and instructors in a contemporary class for all levels! Our contemporary class will feature a fusion of ballet and modern technique, while pushing students to discover an entirely new way of moving.
Flexibility and stretch (30 min)
Emmie Dietz of the Verb Ballets leads a class for all levels, all body types – This class is amazing for anyone looking to improve their flexibility. We will start out with a warmup for your joints and muscles. We will then be working on hamstrings, hip-flexors and hips or back and shoulders. Using active and passive stretching we will focus on releasing tension throughout the body as we stretch. You will learn a variety of stretching methods to deepen your posture and improve flexibility, range of motion, and technique.
Creative Movement for Kids (30 min)
Kate Webb of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance leads a Creative Movement class for little ones. It’s never too early to start dancing! This class enables young aspiring dancers to learn valuable tools such as spatial awareness, coordination, musicality, and basic ballet steps using fun imagery, games, and props. Ballet slippers are encouraged but not required.
Pre Ballet for Kids (30 min)
Kate Webb of the Verb Ballets Center for Dance leads a Pre Ballet class for little ones. In Pre-Ballet young dancers will learn the basics of ballet technique, including ballet positions, vocabulary, and general class structure. Students will enjoy using imagery, music, games, and props to increase their posture, coordination, flexibility, and musicality.
