Tehya West
Tehya West grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where she began her training at Mid-Atlantic Center for the Performing Arts at age seven. She studied Vaganova technique under the direction of Shannon Torres, Ninel Cherevko, and Dmitri Malikov. After graduating high school with an associate degree, went on to graduate from Butler University on an academic scholarship with BA in Dance Pedagogy and minors in Strategic Communication and Journalism. During her time at Butler, Tehya performed soloist roles in productions of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Cinderella. She also performed ensemble and soloist choreography by Jennifer Archibald and Deborah Wingert. Tehya is honored to be joining the company as an apprentice for the 2024-2025 season.
