‘Twas the night before the performance, when all through the house…
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…
Suddenly, out of the silence, arose such a clatter…
Of feet tapping, and bodies swaying, as if nothing else mattered…
With a leap and a twirl, so lively and quick…
They danced through the night, each move perfectly slick…
And what to their wondering eyes did appear…
But candies and sweets, joining in with cheer…
As dawn approached, they vanish from sight…
Whispering ‘best wishes to all, and to all a good night.
